The “Care is costly – Buy war bonds & Stamps” propaganda poster was published during World War 2. It was used to encourage those at home to buy war bonds and stamps to support the injured on the frontline. It was published in the U.S.A. by the U.S. Treasury.
War bonds were used by the government to raise money for the war effort, they were government issued bonds sold to the public. They were used during both World War 1 and World War 2. This poster is part of our war bonds poster collection.
The poster was designed by Adolph Triedler who was well known for designing propaganda posters during World War 2 and also for his work as a commercial artist and designer. One of his other well known posters is the “The girl he left behind, is still behind him, She’s a WOW” poster.
